Early Life and Childhood

Ranveer is from a farming Jatt Sikh family. Ishwar Singh, his father, was employed with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

Ranveer Brar got his start in cooking at a young age, coming from a family with strong culinary traditions. His grandmother’s culinary expertise fostered a childhood where the aroma of spices and the essence of local Indian cuisine permeated his surroundings. He and his grandfather used to go to the gurdwara on Sundays to participate in langar culture when he was younger. He cherished observing group cooking. One day, a priest requested Ranveer to help him make sweet rice while he was observing the langar being prepared in the gurudwara’s kitchen. In an interview, he revealed that he progressively began to take an interest in cooking after working in communal kitchens.
